A 50 year-old crew member from Honduras is charged with sexual assault of a fifteen year-old girl. The incident took place in a guest cabin yesterday, when the cruise ship Costa Diadema was moored at the port of La Spezia. The girl, who was traveling with her aunt and uncle, was returning to her cabin, where she was intercepted by a cabin steward who started touching her private parts, and kissing her. After a few moments the child was able to break free and escape.

After she told her relatives about the incident her uncle informed the ship's captain, who immediately turned to the Border Police. Costa Cruises, in a statement, said that they are undertaking all the necessary actions for inspection and offer assistance to the victim and her relatives. The Captain of Costa Diadema took steps immediately to report the incident to the authorities. Costa Cruises is guaranteeing full cooperation to the authorities of the Italian police engaged in the investigation.
