Crystal has thanked its crew and partners after being named Best Luxury Cruise Line at the 2026 Travel Weekly Asia Readers’ Choice Awards.

Sharing the news on LinkedIn, the company recognized the people who deliver the onboard experience every day. Evon Ler, Crystal’s Director of Sales for Asia, accepted the award on the cruise line’s behalf.

The ceremony took place at Mandarin Oriental, Singapore, on October 1. Travel Weekly Asia confirmed Crystal’s win among 46 awards presented across seven categories.

Crew members aboard Holland America Line’s Zuiderdam have demonstrated that discarded materials can become a source of creativity.

During the ship’s “Best Out of Waste” competition, team members transformed recyclable items and other waste materials into imaginative works of art.

Holland America Line shared photographs from the competition and congratulated its winners while thanking everyone who participated.

More than 20 Holland America Line employees stepped away from their offices and headed to Seattle’s waterfront for an afternoon of environmental work.

Working alongside Puget Soundkeeper, the volunteers collected 103 pounds, or nearly 47 kilograms, of trash from Myrtle Edwards Park and beaches surrounding Elliott Bay.

Behind every crew member and officer, there is a remarkable story shaped by dreams, sacrifices and years of hard work. Before Captain Ivan Mladina took command of Carnival cruise ships, he represented Croatia at two Olympic Games and won two medals at the Mediterranean Games.

Born in Split, Croatia, Mladina made his Olympic debut at Sydney 2000, competing in the 100-meter butterfly and the 4x100-meter freestyle relay. Four years later, he returned to the Olympics in Athens as a member of Croatia’s 4x100-meter freestyle relay team. 

Royal Caribbean crew members have supported 83 community events around the world through the company’s ROYAL Crew Cares volunteer program.

According to an internal company newsletter, 643 crew members from 23 ships had participated in projects across 16 ports as of June 2026.

The initiative connects crew members with volunteer opportunities in the destinations visited by Royal Caribbean ships. Activities include community service projects, environmental initiatives and other forms of local assistance.
