Carnival Corporation's German Based cruise line AIDA Cruises, announced it will expand its range of cruises this autumn with new voyages to Italy, starting on Oct. 17, 2020.
In a press release, Carnival Corporation said the new seven-day itinerary will start from Civitavecchia, Rome, with stops in Palermo, Catania, Naples, and La Spezia. In Rome, an overnight stay is planned. The voyages will be offered weekly until Nov. 28, 2020.
“The AIDA health and safety program will be implemented on all cruises. Developed with leading medical experts, the program has been audited and confirmed by the renowned independent auditing company SGS Institut Fresenius and the classification society DNV-GL. The measures include a complimentary COVID-19 test, regular temperature measurements for guests and crew, physical distancing and increased disinfection measures.” Says the company announcement.
The press release doesn’t say which Aida cruise ship will take over the Italian itineraries or the maximum guest capacity the ship will sail. With the latest announcement, this might come as a surprise since Aida's previous plan for the actual start was aimed for November with AIDAmar and AIDAperla to be the first ships to resume cruises from the Canary Islands. Now everything looks like there will be an earlier start for Aida Cruises.
