Arrested because he did not Know Better

65-year-old man who was wanted for murder for the last thirteen years was arrested on MSC Poesia

Most often when a person commits a murder, that person is careful and hides. You would not think that a murderer would be taking a cruise vacation, especially where people are being checked for identification so often.  Well, that is how the 65-year-old man who was wanted for murder for the last thirteen years did.  He took a cruise vacation on the MSC Poesia.  Once found out, the man was arrested by the police in Keil Harbor.

The police noticed his name on the passengers list and made the move to arrest the man who did not put up a fight, but went quietly.  Once caught, the man was sentenced to life-in-prison by a court in Essen for murder, armed robbery, and illegal weapons possession.

People who have had run in with the law on the level as this man has, change their name and their identification, but this man traveled under his real name and with his real travel identification.  It was found that the man boarded the ship in Hellesylt, Norway.

The police routinely checked the passengers list and when they noticed his name, they boarded the ship looking for him in his cabin.  Once they realized that the man is not in his cabin, staff aboard the ship called out his name over the PA system and soon enough the man showed up.  The police arrested him on the spot.  The 65-year-old man did not disembark the ship in Kiel knowing that if he did he would get arrested, but he also believed that just because the ship was sailing on a foreign flag that the police would not be able to arrest him.
