Bomb Alert in the Gibraltar Cruise Terminal

Two incidents of similar characteristics in the last week occurred on Gibraltar. The bomb squad of the Royal Gibraltar Regiment yesterday was alerted of a suspicious object in the Rock cruise terminal.

The object looked like a small bag for laptop but inside was only personal belongings. "There was no computer equipment or electronic," said police, who tried unsuccessfully to locate the owner or the owner of the object. The incident lasted for two hours or so.

This is the second altercation with similar characteristics on Gibraltar in less than a week. On Saturday, a purse left in a phone booth next to a gas station, coused retention of more than three hours in the area. The finding of wires and batteries inside the bag forced the police scientists to analyze the content. Finally, they did not detect any hazardous material.
