Two incidents of similar characteristics in the last week occurred on Gibraltar. The bomb squad of the Royal Gibraltar Regiment yesterday was alerted of a suspicious object in the Rock cruise terminal.
According to the police sources, around 1:15 pm cruise terminal security officers detected a small bag left unattended. The bag rise suspicions of the security service, who decided to notify the police.
In turn, the security guard alerted the bomb disposal unit of the Royal Regiment and decided to close the cruise terminal at a time when the terminal was not crowded with tourists. In fact, at the time there was a cruise ship docked but most passengers had returned to the vessel.

The object looked like a small bag for laptop but inside was only personal belongings. "There was no computer equipment or electronic," said police, who tried unsuccessfully to locate the owner or the owner of the object. The incident lasted for two hours or so.
This is the second altercation with similar characteristics on Gibraltar in less than a week. On Saturday, a purse left in a phone booth next to a gas station, coused retention of more than three hours in the area.
