Carnival Conquest and Disney Wonder picked up Cuban refugees onboard

Two cruise ships which were en route to the United States rescued migrants sailing on small boats or rafts in the Gulf Mexico near Florida Keys.

The cruise ship Carnival Conquest took on Friday night aboard 13 Cubans, whose vessel was located 64 kilometers from the  Key West. The people had to pass the U.S. Coast Guard. Eight people where rescued on Friday by the cruise ship Disney Wonder. Their vessel was 72 kilometers from the island of Key West.

 

The crewmembers of the cruise ships provide the migrants with food, water and medical assistance. There were no reported injuries or fatalities.
