CCL Breeze Captain Saves the Day

The accident was caused due to very strong winds of over 70 mph, as well as heavy sea currents.

As if the CCL did not have enough problems already with law suits and the newly reported man-overboard from one of their fun ships, but now another report of accident has been reported from Venice.  The CCL Breeze cut its lines while it was being moved in Venice.  The accident was caused due to very strong winds of over 70 mph, as well as heavy sea currents.

Luckily for the 3000 passengers, who were aboard the ship when the incident occurred, the well trained and experienced captain reacted immediately by releasing the other lines and started maneuvering with the vessel.  The master of the ship informed the passengers of the incident even though he was still maneuvering the vessel and managed not to let it hit the pier.

During this accident, no one was injured from the crew members, or the passengers.  Thanks to the ships master, the ship did not suffer any damages either.  Once the ship was docked, the port authorities expressed their admiration for the precise and accurate actions by the captain of the Carnival Breeze.

Just to give an idea for those who do not cruise the Mediterranean seas that often about the challenge that this amazing captain had to manage while maneuvering the Carnival Breeze.  This CCL ship has length of 306 m, beam of 48.10 m and draft of 8.20 m; the ships gross tonnage is 128,052 GRT and deadweight of 128,052 DWT; capacity of the ship is 3,690 passengers and 1,386 crew members.
