Coast Guard Rescued Woman Onboard Costa Magica

The Coast Guard rescued a young Dutch woman who embarked on Costa Magica and had intestinal bleeding.

The Coast Guard rescued a young Dutch woman who embarked on Costa Magica and had intestinal bleeding. Injury happened at 22.50 on Friday, when the ship's captain informed the operations center of the Port of Pozzallo's that passenger had severe abdominal pain. Captain asked for the urgent intervention to transport the woman on shore to receive adequate medical care.

Immediately port authorities in Pozzallo started the rescue mission CP 304 which was directed towards Costa Magica. A little over ten miles from the coast, the Hyblean patrol boat intercepted the cruise ship, despite the bad weather and sea conditions. Patrol boat transferred the young Dutch woman, Costa Magica ship's doctor and the family of the woman. The woman was transported to the hospital Maggiore di Modica in Pozzallo.
