Controversial lecture by Costa Concordia Captain on "panic control"

The captain of the Italian cruise ship Costa Concordia, Francesco Schettino , accused of abandoning his ship after it capsized off the Italian coast, last month appeared at Italian university as an expert in "control panic situations , "reported the newspaper La Nazione.

Schettino had been invited by the Faculty of Medicine, University La Sapienza to make a presentation about the occurred accident off Giglio Island, killing 32 passengers.

Schettino is being prosecuted since July 2013 reckless homicide and abandoning his ship during nighttime evacuation of the more than 4,200 passengers. captain had come dangerously close to the cruise shore to perform a maneuver greeting. The boat hit a rock and partially sank.

The Italian conservative MP Sandra Savino criticized Schettino's performance in college, considering that the captain is anything but an example. The professor who invited Schettino is accountable now before an ethics committee of the university.
