Costa Allegra waiting for Help

Despite 1.5 meter waves the ship was holding steady and passengers were being kept in the ship's public facilities for a safety reasons.
Italian Coast Guard said emergency generators were keeping the ship's control room illuminated and communication equipment is running.

Second accident this year in Costa cruises fleet . The cruise ship – Costa Allegra was adrift yesterday February 27 in choppy seas with no power after a fire near the Seychelles. The accident happened near Alphonse Island, 200 nautical miles from the main islands of the Indian Ocean archipelago. The fire started in the engine room, but it was put out after few hours by the emergency crews. No one from the passengers and the crew was injured. All passengers are safe but they were transferred to the outer decks to ensure an easier evacuation if needed.  The company sent managers and technical experts to assist the crew in the rescue efforts.

After a distress signal send by the captain first to come for rescue was French fishing vessel and two tugboats from the Seychelles are expected to reach the vessel.
Costa Cruises confirmed 636 passengers are on board on the cruise liner, along with 413 crew members.
