Cruise Companies offer 800 jobs for Brazilians

The starting salaries range from $ 650 to $ 2,600, but it takes a lot more than willing to work in this industry.

There are more than 800 job openings for the cruise season 2012/2013, which begins next November and runs through April 2013. The starting salaries range from $ 650 to $ 2,600, but it takes a lot more than willing to work in this industry.

Working on a cruise ships has been an alternative for  young Brazilians to join  the labor market and some positions do not require much experience and offer good yields.

The selection process is done by subcontractors, who work only in recruitment of crew. Infinity Brazil, which is based in Santos and in Rio de Janeiro, is recruiting candidates who like to work on a cruise ship.

Hiring  cruise companies Pullmantur, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Ocean Photo, Costa and Ibero will send their representatives to attend the interviews  in the coming months with the selected candidates. The latter two processes started hiring in April, but vacancies are still open.

This industry is seeking professionals who  work in the restaurant, bars, housekeeping, kitchen, reception, entertainment and photography departments. For all positions, applicants must have knowledge of the English language.

According to the manager of Infinity Brazil, Marcelo Del Bel, there is high demand for jobs in restaurants.

"For jobs in reception, for example, we have a bigger problem because of the difficulty of hiring people with fluent languages." he explains.
