Cruise Itineraries Altered by Tropical Storm Debby

Tropical storm Debby is moving through the Gulf of Mexico and is expected to cross over Florida north of Port Canaveral and south of Jacksonville, FL.

Tropical storm Debby is moving through the Gulf of Mexico and is expected to cross over Florida north of Port Canaveral and south of Jacksonville, FL. With winds of up to 50 mph and moving 6 mph, this storm is causing heavy winds and even some tornadoes. Some cruise ships needed to adjust their itinerary due to bad weather and safety percussions.
On Saturday Carnival Ecstasy left port Canaveral and was scheduled to visit Florida’s Key West following day. However this port of call was replaced and Ecstasy docked in Nassau, Bahamas and on Monday this ship visited Freeport Bahamas. In hopes that storm will pass by, ship will make its originally planned stop of Key West on Tuesday.
Another Carnival ship that can be affected by the storm is Fascination, scheduled to arrive in Jacksonville on Thursday morning.

Other ships who can experience bad weather from tropical storm Debby due to the fact that they will be docked in Port Canaveral are:
June 28: Carnival Sensation and Ecstasy.
June 29: Disney Dream and Royal Caribbean Monarch of the Seas.
June 30: Carnival Dream and Disney Fantasy.

Tropical storm Debby is expected to be downgraded to tropical depression with intensity of winds under 39 mph and slowly moving to north Atlantic between coast of Carolina and island of Bermuda.
Cruise ships sailing in the Gulf of Mexico will keep safe distance from Debby and captains together with main offices are in constant communication with National Hurricane Center.
