Dutch River Cruise Ship Catches Fire

More than 100 passengers where evacuated after fire broke on the river cruise ship Regina Rheni.

More than 100 passengers where evacuated after fire broke on the river cruise ship Regina Rheni. The fire that started early in the morning, around 3:15am onboard Dutch owned cruise ship took more than three hours to extinguish.
Passengers were evacuated by a river vessel sailing near Dusseldorf.

Ten elderly passengers complained of slight smoke inhalation and one woman had an asthma attack. Otherwise there are no serious injuries and 40 crew members were unharmed.
All of the passengers are British and they booked their cruise by Saga but ship is owned by Rifjers River Cruises.

After the incident all of the passengers where accommodated in hotel in Dusseldorf. Spokesman for Saga reported that the cruise passengers will be fully refunded.

According to police, the fire started in the kitchen.
