Georgia New Cruise Destination

In total, 4,800 cruise passengers will visit Batumi in 2012, compared with 2,030 passengers from last year this is a significant progress for the cruise industry of Georgia.

Not many crew or passengers visited Georgia and the port of Batumi. However this is abut to change due to increased interest by cruise passangers striving for new destinations.

Georgian government together with Royal Caribbean International is building a new ship terminal in Batumi. According to the state officials construction is at final stage and will be finished by the end of September.
This year the port is planning to host 14 cruise ships, calls of eight of them has been already confirmed, negotiations with other are being held at the moment.

In total, 4,800 cruise passengers will visit Batumi in 2012, compared with 2,030 passengers from last year this is a significant progress for the cruise industry of Georgia.

Batumi passenger terminal is situated near city center, in the seaside boulevard. The throughput efficiency is about 180,000 passengers annually.
