Here comes the Titanic 2

If the Titanic was "a dream ship" Titanic II will be "the ship where dreams become reality." That's how the Australian billionaire Clive Palmer presented on Tuesday, its project to build a replica of the ship that sank in April 1912. Even the clothing of passengers will be similar to what was used in the 1920s.

The Titanic II will be, according to the promoter, "a full-scale replica" of its predecessor. Will be 270 feet long, 55,800 tonnes gross weight and capacity for 2435 passengers and 900 crew members. Passengers will enjoy in gymnasium, Turkish bath, squash court, swimming pool, theater and casino aboard, but the ship will not have television, like the Titanic, and still not sure if  its going to have Internet. On board are 18 lifeboats - according to the promoter, sufficient for all passengers.

The details of the project, which had been announced in 2012, have now been presented at a press conference aboard an aircraft carrier, in the Hudson River, where the Titanic would have docked had he not wrecked. Clive Palmer didn’t say how much it will cost to build the ship. "We will not disclose the cost because I have enough money to pay it," he argued. The entrepreneur revealed only that the ship will be built in China by CSC Jinling Shipyard state company, in partnership with a private company. If all goes as expected, will be ready to sail at the end of 2016.

Besides the characteristics of the original ship, also the clothing of the era will be recreated. In the rooms, passengers will find the costumes used in the 1920s, they have to wear to help set the scene. Travelers in first class can not mix with the second and third class, but may spend a few days in different areas of the ship - it will have to change clothes.

The facts are included in the ticket price, which has not yet been announced. However, according to local media, ensured that Palmer has received offers worth a million dollars for the maiden voyage, whose route is mapped out: leave the port of Shanghai, China, bound for Southampton, England, to where depart towards New York - repeating the maiden voyage of the Titanic, which culminated in one of the biggest disasters in the history of navigation. More than 1500 people died after colliding with an iceberg the ship in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Canada.

Clive Palmer, a renowned Australian entrepreneur with businesses in the areas of mining, golf and football teams, among others, ensured that already received several expressions of interest from potential passengers. He said until the project is "a real financial windfall," such that "have" to build the Titanic III. To realize this project, Palmer created the Blue Star Line - any resemblance to the White Star Line, owners of the Titanic, is no coincidence.
