Searching for the most popular brands among Germans every year, the market research company YouGov and the business and financial newspaper Handelsblatt organized one more survey and the surveyed again voted Hurtigruten first this year. The shipping company is known for the traditional mail ship route along the Norwegian coast and the sustainable expedition sea voyages around the globe.
For the fifth time in a row, the Norwegian shipping company took first place in the well-known ranking: in 2021, 2020 and 2019 in the newly introduced "Cruise" category, and in 2018 and 2017 in the "Travel Agents and Booking Sites" category.
“We are very happy about this positive feedback! The award as the most popular cruise brand in 2021 is great recognition for our entire team and shows that our consistent commitment to providing our guests with sustainable and unforgettable travel experiences is very much appreciated, ”says Heiko Jensen, VP Sales Europe at Hurtigruten. “In response to popular requests, we have made Hamburg our home port and now offer our guests the opportunity to set off from the Hanseatic city on 15-day expedition voyages to Norway all year round with the hybrid expedition ship Otto Sverdrup. The trips from Hamburg are so popular that we will be using a second hybrid expedition ship from Hamburg with MS Fridtjof Nansen from January to March 2022 ”.
Hurtigruten, in translation 'Express Route' - the Original has been in regular service on the Norwegian fjord coast since 1893, bringing local passengers, tourists and goods to 34 ports along the unique Norwegian coast between Bergen and Kirkenes.
