Piracy is still alive and roaming the International seas. It was reported that a naval coalition warship rescued 25 Indian seafarers who were imprisoned by pirates. The ordeal occurred in the Gulf of Aden on February 28, 2012.Once the naval coalition attempted a rescue, the pirates threatened to kill the hostages. The following day, the warship made a more active move and rescued the crew and their boat as the pirates fled. After the successful rescue, the naval warship attended to the needs of the rescued crew.

This is not the first illegal activity of its sort, the Somali pirates have been vandalizing ships for awhile now. The USA naval fleet has been successful in capturing at least 15 suspected Somali pirates who are now waiting trial in the Seychelles. The Maritime Bureau (IMB) on March 8 reported that the Somali pirates have captured 14 vessels and 199 hostages.
