Italian Coast Guard evacuated 64 year old woman who was passenger on board Celebrity Solstice. The woman is US citizen and had left lower limb trauma that needed urgent medical attention. Two Coast Guard patrol boats of Lipari and Milazzo assisted in bring her back to the mainland. She was taken to hospital in Milazzo in the department for orthopedic care. The alarm went off at around 4p.m., when Celebrity Solstice was in transit in the waters off Capo D'orlando, explained by the Coast Guard in Catania, who coordinated the operations. The rescue operation was completed at around 8 p.m.

Celebrity Solstice will arrive tomorrow in Barcelona for her last Maditeranian cruise for the season, before she sets sail to Australia and New Zealand.
