Man-overboard on Carnival Fascination

The Carnival Fascination reported a man-overboard to the Coast Guard Sector in Jacksonville, FL at 2.09 a.m. Tuesday via VHF-FM marine radio channel 16.  It seems that crew members noticed the incident and followed protocol procedure.  The Carnival Fascination departed the Jacksonville, FL at approximately 5 p.m. on Monday and was headed towards their regular route which is Key West.

Once the report was received by the U.S. Coast Guard the search began 25 miles off Ponce De Leon for the 31-year-old male who was last seen on the CCL cruise ship Fascination by the security guard who was on duty.  The security guard reported that the male passenger willingly leaped into the water early Tuesday morning.

The 210-foot Coast Guard Cutter resolute home ported in St. Petersburg, FL.

The 154-foot Coast Guard Cutter Bernard C. Webber, a Sentinel Class fast Response Cutter based off of Miami, FL.

The 87-foot Coast Guard Cutter Shrike based off of Port Canaveral, FL.

The 47-foot Motor Life Boat from Station Ponce De Leon, FL.

The HH-60 Jayhawk from the Air Station Clear Water, FL.

The search for this man is still on going with the hopes of retrieving him alive and well.
