Masks Policy Reintroduced on Costa Fascinosa

Submitted by kgnadmin on

In an attempt to contain the spread of the Coronavirus among the cruise passangers and crew Costa Cruises has reintroduced the obligation to wear masks aboard Costa Fascinosa. Captain Mario Moretta, in coordination with the company and the medical staff on board, has informed guests in a letter distributed to their staterooms

Masks requirement was decided in response to COVID cases among guests and crew on board the ship. It covers all interior areas of the ship. Exceptions apply to eating and drinking in the restaurants and bars and, of course, to your own cabin. A mask should be worn in the outdoor areas if a minimum distance can no longer be maintained. On shore excursions, the Costa shipping company strongly advises wearing a mask indoors and on public transport. Medical masks or FFP 2 masks are recommended. But this is not obligatory.

According to Costa Cruises, the health of guests and crewmembers is a top priority. The infected on board were isolated from the other passengers and crewmembers. You have no or only mild symptoms. Anyone who develops symptoms on the cruise should call a specific number for the corona test.

The Costa Fascinosa sails from Kiel and Copenhagen this summer. Boarding for German guests is in Kiel. The ship of Italian shipping company is currently running a 12-day North Cape cruise. On July 29th, the ship was in Trondheim and the next day was moored in Olden on the Nordfjord. The Costa Fascinosa is expected back in Kiel today, August 2nd.

Even if most guests on board are happy to experience cruises without restrictions again, some shipping companies have to reintroduce a mask requirement to stop the spread of Covid 19 on board. At the moment, a mask requirement is more of a temporary measure to interrupt the infection process and to offer guests the safest possible vacation.
