The fifth storm of the Hurricane season this year called Ernesto, started to affect popular travel destinations in Caribbean.
The storm is currently near the Windward island and there is storm watch for St. Lucia, Dominica, Guadeloupe, Barbados, Grenadines and  Martinique.
With maximum speed of 45 mph tropical Storm Ernesto is moving in the west direction at 42mph, however Ernesto isn't done yet. As it heads towards Yucatan Peninsula the storm strength is expected to increase next week and in Monday can tourn into a Hurricane.
National Hurricane Center expects this storm to pass south of Jamaica and the Cayman Islands, which could mean  that some of the cruise ships itineraries might be affected.
Usually hurricane seasons start from June 1 and November 30 but this year started early as two storms were named before June 1. Unusually warm temperatures may be the reason for this early start however July was a quiet month.
Cruise lines haven’t canceled any itinerary at this time however they are constantly tracking this storm and if needed ships itineraries will be adjusted
