Norwegian Passenger Evacuated from a Cruise Ship

A Norwegian citizen who was aboard a cruise ship sailing 110 nautical miles west of the island of São Miguel was evacuated to the hospital  on Tuesday.

The command of the Azores Offshore announced on Tuesday that the Center for Maritime Search and Rescue Ponta Delgada, conducted a medical evacuation of a Norwegian citizen.

The lady was aboard the cruise ship "MS BOUDICCA" flag of the Bahamas, which was sailing about 110 nautical miles west of the island of São Miguel.

The request for medical assistance was received at 10: 32 a.m. (local time), after medical evaluation performed by CODU-MAR INEM, it was decided to medevac crewmember according to the rules and procedures in force, with the MRCC Ponta Delgada assumed coordination of operations, within its mandate, working to that end EH-101 helicopter "MERLIN" Portuguese Air Force.

The evacuation was successful, and the passenger was taken to the Hospital of the Holy Spirit Creek heroism, in Terceira.
