A passenger sailing on one of Carnival Cruise Line's ships shared a video revealing that they managed to smuggle a handgun onboard. Kendra Gordon from Bradenton, Florida, posted a video showing the gun she brought onboard, which had gone unnoticed by security checks. In the video, she displays the firearm stored in her stateroom safe.
“They took my pickles, my hot sausages, and even my open bag of popcorn, but they didn’t find this,” Kendra says, showcasing the gun in the video.
After the video went viral on social media, Carnival fans reported it to the cruise line, alerting them to the presence of a dangerous and prohibited item on board. Carnival's response was immediate, stating that they were aware of the incident and, according to their records, Kendra last sailed with the cruise line in April of this year. She has since been banned for life from all Carnival Cruise Line ships, and is likely that other cruise lines under the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) will also impose similar bans, as CLIA members often share such information.
As for why Kendra and her partner brought a gun onboard, only she knows the reasons. Ironically, by posting the video, she incriminated herself. It seems people sometimes do reckless things for attention, hoping to boost their social media profiles and potentially make money from their notoriety.

The recent gun incident raises serious concerns about the effectiveness of the security checks.
With scanners, detectors, and all necessary security equipment in place, how could a firearm have slipped through undetected?
Were security personnel too focused on confiscating food, drinks, and alcohol—items commonly smuggled aboard by passengers?
This lapse in security has undoubtedly raised alarms and prompted questions about the thoroughness of these checks.
A similar incident occurred recently when a former crew member posted a false video claiming that if there was an ice cream party onboard, it meant several guests had died and that the freezers were being cleared to store their bodies. This baseless claim caused a stir, and the individual faced significant backlash from the cruise community, especially the crew, who were shocked by the blatant lie.
