P&O Sued for $1 Million Because Crew member made indecent comment

Female passenger is suing P&O for sexual harassment over comments and gestures made by one of the crew members who was playing the role of judge of a singing competition "Popstars"

Female passenger is suing P&O for sexual harassment over comments and gestures made by one of the crew members who was playing the role of judge of a singing competition  "Popstars"  aboard Pacific Jewel.
Incident hapend last November when Kate Strahan, 50, performed on the stage on the cruise ship Pacific Jewel dressed in a leopard skin dress for an imitation of Tina Turner.
She is suing the P&O because the crew member told her he could see her underwear through her dress while she sang on stage, commented on her breasts and said she could "cougar" him any time. The crew member allegedly made inappropriate gestures toward an image of her projected on a screen.
Her husband stated that the incident caused huge stress to his wife that she couldn’t continue with her work duties.
Strahan is asking for more than $1 million in damages and stress caused by this incident.
P&O Officials are trying to dismiss this case stating that this occurred while the ship was in international waters where Australian law do not apply.

We have already talked about this subject in How Can Crew Member End up in Prison or Get Fired but we haven’t foreseen this scenario. We don’t approve the crew member actions, however asking for $1 million for stress... well lady you should try working in cruise ship galley and for sure you will ask for $1 billion.
