Police arrest man on cruise ship for double murder

What was meant to be a luxury cruise vacation on the Princess Cruise Line’s “Coral Princess” for the Rockville Maryland Tomaszewski family, ended up being a life altering moment with the arrest of their son, 31 year-old Scott.  The family Tomaszewski was disembarking the cruise ship in Juneau, Alaska together with their son and daughter to enjoy a whale watching excursion when Scott was approached by Juneau authority and arrested on the spot for murder of his neighbors.  Scott is currently awaiting extradition to Maryland where he will face the murder charges of his neighbors Richard and Julianne Vilardo.  It has been reported that Scott has tended for the house previously for his neighbors in 1998 when their house was burglarized.  Charges were never initiated due to lack of evidence. However, after locating the couples bodies in their own home on May 10th by their adult daughter, the investigation established that Scott has pawned several specific items that were missing from the Vilardo home.  After Scott’s arrest, the cabin where he was vacating during the 30-day luxury cruise was searched and incriminating items such as bloody money were found.  After being questioned by police, Scott confessed to the murder and was charged with first-degree premeditated murder, armed robbery and burglary.

Although neighbors report that Scott was always peculiar and odd, nothing in the past displayed any increased sense of animosity and homicidal ideations. Scott has several minor citations and a paraphernalia charge in 2012, but no other major charges that could have concerned anyone that he would commit murder.  However, many are puzzled as to Scott’s lack of emotional expression once confronted with the charges and his confession. Questions of personality disorders are circulating the neighborhood, but none official diagnosis have been mentioned and released by the authorities or any other closely related parties.  There have not been any official statements by Scott or his family; however, the family of the victims did release a statement of gratitude to the authorities who have worked hard to bring an overall closure to the family.
