Port of Santos received Five Cruise Ships on Saturday

The Port of Santos, Brazil, received nearly 20,000 passengers on Saturday. Tourists boarded and disembarked in five cruise ships docked simultaneously at Passenger Terminal Giusfredo Santini. This was the first time the facility has received this many boats this season. The occasion served as a preview for the scale of six vessels, which will take place at the Carnival.

The first ship to dock at the pier Santos on Saturday was the MSC Fantasia. The ship arrived at the Port around 6:30 am and brought 3562 passengers. Other 3682 tourists boarded the largest vessel of the season. They went for a seven-night trip bound for Salvador (BA). The cities of Buzios, Ilha Grande and Angra dos Reis, in Rio coast, were also visited.

Then at 8 pm, the Pullmantur Zenith 1736 passengers disembarked and took other 1700 for a four-night cruise. The tourists visited Buzios (RJ), Ilhabela (SP) and a private beach.

Since 1614 the Empress brought passengers back to the dock Santos. She went for a trip towards the south of the country with 1,095 people on board. Itajai and São Francisco do Sul (SC) were the cities visited on a cruise of three nights.

RCCL Sovereign of the Seas also arrived around 8 hours with 1,545 tourists on board. He left a little empty, with 1,500 people for a seven-night cruise. Rio de Janeiro, Buzios (RJ) and Salvador (BA) were the destinations of travel.

Finally, the Grand Mistral docked at pier Santos with 1,480 passengers on board. Other 1390 other tourists followed for a three-night trip to Angra dos Reis (RJ) and Ilhabela (SP).

A special transit scheme was used to minimize the impact of large passenger flow in the vicinity of the terminal. The unloading of goods in the T-Grain Cargo, which is adjacent to the installation cruise was suspended from 8 to 12 hours.

The Perimeter Avenue was used only by tourists and crew who leave the cruise ships..
Arrivals and departures occurred in the same location. The early arrival of tourists to travel that followed failed to disrupt the scheme, but angered some passengers waiting to get on the ship.

"I come from Piracicaba and I was afraid of losing time because of the traffic in the city. But if he knew that would be so full, would have gone for a walk before leaving the car in the parking lot, "says the retired Regina Silva.

For those who disembarked, the biggest problem was waiting for the car that had been taken by valets outside the terminal. "I left the car in the parking lot and now I'm there 45 minutes waiting for someone to bring me so we can keep going," says Professor Paul Souza.
