Project "Sustainable Cruise" on Costa Cruises

Changes will be made as stipulated in the new project "Sustainable Cruise", co-founded with the European Commission

Costa Cruises will launch the project "Sustainable Cruise," a new way to treat the waste on board.
From now on, the three types of waste on board Costa Pacifica, packaging, biodegradable packaging and paper, will be treated differentially through innovative techniques and processes to promote waste reduction and reuse. Changes will be made as stipulated in the new project "Sustainable Cruise", co-founded with the European Commission in the framework of the "Life +" an instrument of the European Union for financing innovative environmental projects.
The scope of "Sustainable Cruise" includes waste management and coordination board with disposal facilities of European ports to increase the possibilities for recycling and reuse and promote Euro-Mediterranean network port. The project also aims to establish a new voluntary certification scheme for the treatment of waste contributes to perform a specific community and environmental legislation for cruise ships.
"Sustainable Cruise" remains on the same line of waste management Costa Cruises fleet applied for some time and that is its total separation and storage on board divided into categories: glass, plastic, metal, food, paper , ceramics and aluminum.
