Royal Caribbean Group has initiated the construction of its new office headquarters at PortMiami. The groundbreaking ceremony, which took place on February 1, marks the start of an ambitious project that includes a state-of-the-art 10-story office building, designed by the renowned architecture firm HOK, and a new multi-level parking garage. This development is expected to significantly enhance the PortMiami landscape by 2026.
The new facility will cover approximately 380,000 square feet, integrating modern office structures with green spaces, gyms, and other amenities aimed at improving the work-life balance for its 3,000 South Florida employees. Jason Liberty, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean, emphasized the project's alignment with the company's maritime heritage and its commitment to providing an innovative and stimulating work environment.
A key feature of the design is its pursuit of LEED certification, underscoring Royal Caribbean Group's focus on sustainability and environmental responsibility. The office campus is expected to not only serve as a hub for the company's operations but also as a beacon of innovation and a draw for global talent, further solidifying Royal Caribbean's position as a leader in the cruise industry.
This development comes on the heels of a strong financial performance by Royal Caribbean Group, with the company reporting $13.9 billion in revenue and a net income of $1.7 billion for the year 2023. Additionally, with a customer deposit balance of $5.3 billion as of December 31, 2023, and the recent introduction of the Icon of the Seas—touted as the world's largest cruise ship—the company anticipates record bookings.
