Search efforts for a woman who fell overboard from Royal Caribbean's Allure of the Seas near the Bahamas have been suspended, announced the U.S. Coast Guard.
The incident occurred around 9:40 p.m. on Tuesday, approximately 17 miles north of Nassau, Bahamas. Multiple international agencies, including the U.S. Coast Guard and the Royal Bahamas Defense Force, were involved in the search.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Coast Guard announced on X that the search had been suspended, pending further developments. Coast Guard spokesperson Eric Rodriguez confirmed the decision, saying that the Royal Bahamas Defense Force had suspended the search for the missing 66-year-old woman.
"The Coast Guard deployed an HC-144 airplane and an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Air Station Miami to assist in the search," Rodriguez said.

A Royal Caribbean spokesperson said that the ship’s crew had launched an immediate search and rescue operation after the woman went overboard and has been working closely with local authorities. The cruise line said it is also providing support to the passenger’s family, but declined to share additional details due to privacy concerns.
