Italian Coast Guard is searching for a missing Filipino crewmember who was working as a cleaner on RCCL Serenade of Seas. The cruise ship that sailed from Mykonos, came early in Salerno: around 10.30 am and the captain reported to the harbor master that one of their crewmembers is missing. Port Authorities boarded the ship and inspected the CCTV cameras. On one of the videos they spotted the steward at around one in the morning, walking into a ship door without getting out. Port Authorities assume that crewmember has fallen into the sea, while the "Serenade of Seas" was about 40 miles north of Lipari
Maritime Authorities in Naples, with a help of port of Reggio Calabria and Catania, started searching with five patrol boats, a Coast Guard plane and a Police plane.

The man, according to Italian media was cleaner of the corridors and the crew started looking for him when they realized that he was not at work that had been assigned.
Meanwhile coast guard is search of the man who, at the time of disappearance was wearing uniform and black boots.
