In the spirit of friendship and compassion, five members of the Carnival Family, led by Hailey Dennis, recently undertook a challenge that went beyond personal achievement. Six months ago, they set out a goal to train and complete the St. Jude Marathon in Memphis, all while fundraising for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital - ALSAC. The results of their efforts were not only measured in miles but in the tremendous impact they made on the lives of the children St. Jude serves.
"Running 26.2 miles is never easy, but it’s always worth it. I am overwhelmed with gratitude to everyone who donated and supported us on this journey, to Carnival Cruise Line and Carnival Cruise Line Entertainment for the encouragement and media coverage, and to my family who supported me (literally) every step of the way. Most of all, I am immensely grateful to Mike Pack, Simon Lindon, Tyler, and Jeremy for making this experience one of the best ones yet. I couldn’t have crossed the finish line without you all. Thank you for another great, life-changing 26.2." - Hailey Dennis, shared on social media.
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital holds a special place in the hearts of many, including Hailey Dennis. The hospital's mission of treating critically ill children without any financial barriers resonated deeply with Hailey, whose parents had volunteered with St. Jude during their time in Memphis.
The marathon, held on December 2, marked the culmination of months of training, dedicated fundraising, and unwavering determination. What set Team Carnival apart was not just their commitment to completing the 26.2-mile race but their collective effort to raise over $17,500 for the children at St. Jude. This accomplishment speaks volumes about the power of teamwork, dedication, and the genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of those in need.
