Two months prison for releasing anchor

A US citizen was sentenced to two months in prison and 7,500 USD fine for releasing anchor on Cruise ship. Back in Nov. 27, 2010 Holland American cruise ship Ryndam was traveling form Costa Maya to Tampa when the person entered restricted area.
Rick Ehlert admitted that he was drunk and he released the anchor from the ships control room. He pleaded guilty at a count of attempting to damage maritime facility. Fortunately the ship was not damaged by the anchor release because it didn’t touché the sea floor.
Part of a sentence for Ehlert also consists of mental health counseling two months of home confinement and three years of probation.
