Young Man Dies on Ibero Cruises “Grand Mistral”

David Rodrigo Morais college friend and roommate on Grand Mistral found him dead onTuesday. Maurice Kiapin was in the cabin with David Rodrigo Morais when he heard him say something in the bathroom, and then he heard a noise from the fall. "He had gone to bath, but I could not understand what he said. I heard only the sound of the fall," says Maurice Kiapin.

According to him, the 20 year old was fine and the only complaint was headache. "We spent the day very well. Later that afternoon, we were together in the cabin and I was watching TV while he was showering. That’s when it all happened. He Fell and hit his head, "said Kiapin.

 "I started calling and knocking on the door, which was locked, but he did not answer, so I left desperate to call the maid who came to help me. But we had to break the door of the bathroom. That's when we found him fallen unconscious and had purplish hands.”

According Kiapin soon after the ship's medical team arrived and provided assistance.
 He returned to Macaws late on Wednesday, after giving a statement to police. "They asked me how everything had happened, but as there was nothing wrong and the evidence points to accident, they released me," said Kiapin.

The body of David Morales was referred to the Legal Medical Institute (IML) of Santos (SP), where it underwent tests that can pinpoint the cause of death. The student's family was informed about the tragic death and the recognition of the body. "At the time the doctor told me it may have been a heart attack or an aneurysm. But the report will only be ready in 60 days, "said Kiapin.

David Morales was on board the ship Grand Mistral, operated by Ibero Cruises, who sailed between Santos, Angra dos Reis and Ilhabela. The ship left Santos, on the coast of Sao Paulo on Sunday for a short cruise of three nights. The vessel was in Angra dos Reis on Monday and in Ilhabela, on Tuesday. The Grand Mistral returned to the Port of Santos on Wednesday.

Ibero Cruises said it does not yet know what caused the boy's death. The company also says it has no report of the captain of the cruise. According to Íbero, the only information is that the young man was sick.
