The newest vessel was delivered on the 21st of December in Bremerhaven from the shipyard Meyer Werft. It is the second ship in ownership of AIDA Cruises powered by liquefied natural gas and AIDA’s fourteenth ship.
Felix Eichhorn, President of AIDA Cruises, said on the occasion of the festive ceremony: “Today marks an important milestone on our way to an emission-neutral cruise. With AIDAcosma and its sister ship AIDAnova, two of the most innovative cruise ships in the world are part of our fleet in terms of sustainable cruises as well as the very special guest experience and the variety of products."
Guests can expect a variety of holiday experiences on board. One of the highlights is the ocean deck. This beautiful new area extends over four decks and offers all-round panoramic sea views. The extensive sun landscape invites you to sunbathe and chill out during the day and in the evening. The large infinity pool at the stern of the ship provides cooling.
AIDAcosma is scheduled to enter service in the first quarter of the following year, offering seven-day metropolis voyages, and on 9th of April, the christening of the ship will take place in Hamburg, by the champion athlete Kristina Vogel, following a two-week christening voyage, with an opportunity to visit either Mallorca or Barcelona.
After the Mediterranean cruise during the summer season, from April to October the voyages will include Palma and Barcelona. Next destination is Dubai, for the winter 2022-2023 season.
