Authorities Found the Body of a Man Who Fell from 11th Deck

The body of the Luciano Lucca, 30, was found at around 9am on Tuesday near Warehouse 33, in the port of Santos, on the coast of São Paulo. By early afternoon, the brother and two other relatives of the man were at the Medical-Legal Institute (IML) and made the recognition of the body. 

 

Luciano Lucca was missing after falling from the 11th floor cabin cruise on MSC Fantasia last Saturday. Yesterday, the Port Authority and the Fire Department, extended their search. The ship was released by the authorities to follow their route. The Captaincy promises thorough investigation with testimony back in the boat, on the 16th, to find out if technical problems led to the accident. Moreover, the Federal Police are still investigating whether there was criminal act in the case.

 

In a statement, the MSC says "sympathizes and is providing all possible support to the family of the guest during this difficult time and reiterates that follows all the rules and safety procedures established by international and national bodies and that mission is to apply the highest levels of control and accident prevention to ensure the safety and comfort of its guests and crew. "

 

The passenger, identified as Luciano De Lucca, crashed into the sea moments before the ship set sail at around 18h50 on Saturday, according to the Port Authority. The victim is a resident of St. Paul and occupied the cabin 11063. The captain reported that a ship crew member saw the fall of the passenger at sea.
