Norwegian Cruise Line has replaced its monthly unlimited Starlink internet package for crew members with a new weekly plan capped at 24.5 GB.
The cost remains unchanged at $28 per week or $4 per day, but the switch allows crew to purchase access in seven-day increments rather than committing to a full month.
Crew say the move offers more flexibility, especially for those signing off mid-month.
“If you’re going home soon and only need a week, you don’t have to buy the whole month anymore,” one crew member said. “It’s not unlimited like before, but 24.5 GB a week is pretty good.”
The service continues to run on SpaceX’s Starlink satellite network, which has improved connectivity across the NCL fleet, though speeds still depend on each ship’s internal infrastructure.
While the data cap means heavy users could run out before the week ends, most crew report the allowance is sufficient for messaging, social media, and streaming.
