The cruise ship Carnival Magic was escorted into port by the US Coast Guard after a brawl erupted in the ship’s night club which involved up to 60 people. On Tuesday morning New York Police boarded the ship to break up the nightclub brawl.
The violent brawl broke out on the dance floor while the ship was sailing near the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, which connects Brooklyn and Staten Island, just before 5:20 a.m., New York police said.
Police said it is not clear whether the fight in the nightclub took place in international waters because a boat 1,000 feet long was trying to dock between New York and New Jersey.

"We are not sure [in which country] the incident took place," police said. "But it's currently under investigation."
Numerous guests were involved in the quarrel at the nightclub, but no one was seriously injured, Carnival Cruise spokesman Matt Lupoli said in a statement.
"Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported and our security team intervened," Lupoli said. The ship arrived as planned this morning.
Cruise security officers called the U.S. Coast Guard, which escorted the ship to Pier 88 in Hell's Kitchen, where officers were waiting, New York police said, and the Carnival Cruise confirmed.
"We wanted to make sure that when individuals got off the boat, there would be no more disagreements on the streets of Manhattan," said an NIPD spokesman. "They were there to speed up the unloading process."
Neither police nor Lupoli had information on how many passengers were interviewed, but New York police noted that there were no further clashes.
"The ship arrived as planned," he said. "There are no arrests at the moment.”
