A burst pipe on the Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas caused flooding in some crew areas yesterday, while the cruise ship was sailing in the South China Sea. Water spewed down the corridors and staircases, leaving some crew cabins flooded.
According to our source, the burst water pipe was on Deck 0, and many crew had their belongings wet in the cabins. The burst pipe had no effect on the safety of the ship, and repairs were quickly made. Now everything is back to normal, and crew whose cabins were flooded moved to guest staterooms and operations continue.
A video uploaded on YouTube by Scenic Views shows water flooding in crew corridors and cascading down the staircase.
Quantum of the Seas is sailing Ocean Getaway "cruises to nowhere“ from Singapore offering Singapore residents 3-night or 4-night voyages under the CruiseSafe certification, developed by the Singapore Tourism Board.
