Water slides are nothing new on Cruise ships but Carnival Spirit is taking this feature on whole different level. The Green Thunder is the newest toy that will be installed on this 2,680-passenger cruise ship, the coined name of the waterslide is “the steepest and fastest waterslide at sea”. This amazing water slide will have a trap-door with a breathtaking steep drop that’ll carry riders through a green translucent tube, over the side of the ship, and into a splash zone.
Passengers will step into the ‘Green Thunder’ before the floor drops away and they plummet ten meters, almost vertically, through a semi-translucent slide before looping just off the ship and splashing down on deck.
What is exciting about this water slide is that one part goes outside of the ship, combined to the height of the ship and waterslide it self it should be one exciting ride. Carnival Spirit will also feature a brand new ‘WaterWorks’ and ‘Splash Park’ for younger cruisers who can indulge in staying cool with the ‘Power Drencher’ and two mini racing slides. Carnival Spirit is being deployed to Sydney,Australia in October, after she finishes her 2012 Alaska cruise season.
