Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, the Disney Destiny, is almost ready to make waves. The ship is scheduled to leave the construction hall at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, tomorrow, Saturday, August 9, 2025, around 8:30 a.m.
Destiny will feature a “Heroes and Villains” theme and is the third Wish-class ship to roll out of this shipyard, following the Disney Wish (2022) and Disney Treasure (2024). Once it leaves the dock, Destiny will be moved to the shipyard harbor and is expected to remain there until mid-September while final work continues.
After the harbor phase, Destiny will make a journey down the Ems River toward the North Sea, where it will undergo sea trials. That transfer will happen sometime in September, depending on weather conditions. Strong winds can delay the operation, since tugboats need calm conditions to safely guide the massive ship out.
Once sea trials are complete, the ship will cross the Atlantic, without passengers and arrive in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, for its maiden voyage on November 20, 2025.
