Cruise ship hits Rock in Norway

A cruise ship sailing along Norwegian coast hit a rock beneath the ocean’s surface on Monday. The cruise ship Kong Harald operated by Hurtigruten was grounded on the rock off Trollfjord and water started to enter the ship. There are no reported injuries and the water was stoped by watertight doors. At the time of the accident onboard Kong Harald were 258 passengers.

The ship came to rest with the bow in the shallows, and the plan was to wait for high tide to 6 o'clock on Tuesday morning, so it could come loose under its own steam. But the wait for passengers and crew were much shorter.

Now headed for dry-dock in Fiskarstrand for hull repairs Kong Harald canceled all upcoming cruises.
