The Princess Cruises private island, Princess Cays, sustained biggest damage from hurricane Sandy from the rest of Bahamian islands owned by the cruise companies. This private resort located 50 miles east of Nassau, has experienced extensive beach erosion, downed trees and roof damage of the island structures.

Princess spokesperson Karen Candy said “The end of the observation pier was also lost and the cleanup will begin as soon as conditions allow. As soon as conditions permit, we hope to have everything ready, except the observation deck, for the next (ship) call on Nov. 11."

Telecommunications and power is renewed on the island.
