Facebook More Popular than Twitter Among the Cruise lines

Cruise companies prefer to use Facebook over Twitter in their social activities according to a survey conducted by Digital Tomorrow Today. This web site reviewed 52 Cruise Lines and found out that 50 cruise companies, are using  Mark Zuckerberg social network.

The most popular cruise line on Facebook is Carnival Cruise lines with more than two million fans followed by Royal Caribbean with 1,151,371.  Silversea has most Twitter followers with 83,958, Carnival has only 58,561 followers on twitter taking third  place behind Disney Cruise Line with 77,001 followers. 

The survey reveals that Facebook is the most used social network 96% of all Cruise Lines maintaining their Facebook pages, while  85% of the cruise companies use their Twitter account.

YouTube is also frequently used channel for the cruise industry, with 24 brands actively promoting  their video channels. Meanwhile only six companies have a presence on Pinterest, including MSC Cruises, Cunard Line and Tauck. 

The cruise industry does not have much presence in Google+. Only 440 followers for Cunard Line, Princess (830 followers) and Viking River Cruises (59 followers).
