Finally Carnival Triumph is in US port

Carnival Cruise Lines president, Gerry Cahill, was oboard the cruise ship Triumph to talk to the crew and passengers in the port of Mobile, Alabama, where the ship is now docked.

The rupture of one of the main cables of the tug vessel, wind and currents as well as the channel conditions in the Bay of Mobile delayed the docking of the ship which has 14 decks, 275 feet longand only one operating elevator.

On disembarking  operation, the authorities are giving priority to the elderly, disabled and children.

Triumph set sail on a cruise that should last only four days, but a fire in the engine room left the ship without propulsion and only work using generators.

The greatest difficulty in routing the vessel to the port gave up due to the narrow inlet channel with only 120 meters, when the ship has a width of about 60 meters.
