Kate Middleton accepted the invitation to become the Godmother to Royal Princess

Princess Cruises announced this week that its newest cruise ship will be named by the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton.

Prince William wife will be the godmother of Royal Princess. The christening ceremony of the ship, will be held on June 13 in the port city of Southampton, will include traditional rituals, as a blessing of the ship, a band's performance of the British Navy and Marines Irish Guards playing the bagpipes.

 

The night before, there will be a gala eavening for the VIP guests and the maiden voyage will be on June 16.

 

Alan Buckelew, the line’s president and CEO said “It is a great honor for Princess Cruises that Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge has accepted our invitation to become the Godmother to Royal Princess. We are delighted that the Duchess will launch our new ship and can think of no better way to celebrate our company’s British heritage and our commitment to the country.”

 

Princess Cruises promises amazing attractions for the new royal ship, which holds 3,600 passengers.Among unique features there is a glass walkway that extends over the water beyond the edge of the ship; private cabanas by the pool, a television studio, the largest movie screen outdoors on a cruise in the world, and a self-guided tour by smartphones to know the "extensive" collection of works of art on board.

The company will place a tea sommelier on board, with more than 250 options of traditional drink among Britons as well as Italian ice cream, the largest confectionery on a ship and a private dining option where guests will be surrounded by a light curtain.
