Lawsuit against Royal Caribbean

The woman with initials S.M. was attacked on January 1, 2012 during an Eastern Caribbean cruise by a crew member from India and part of the attack was recorded by the CCTV.

The news paper Miami Herald reported that a lawsuit was filed last week against Royal Caribbean involving crew member who sexually assaulted woman from South Florida onboard Navigator of the Sea.
The woman with initials S.M. was attacked on January 1, 2012 during an Eastern Caribbean cruise by a crew member from India and part of the attack was recorded by the CCTV.

Royal Caribbean International handed the footage of the attack to FBI capturing the crew member following  S.M. into the bathroom — and her trying to escape, only to be dragged back in to the room.
The woman immediately reported the attack to the ships security. Victims attorney, Michael Feiler believes RCCL security officers took the man into custody and kicked him off the ship at the port of St. Kitts.
“This is a problem in the cruise industry and if the company cared, it wouldn’t just turn this guy loose in the nearest port,” Feiler said. “You need to cooperate with the victim and assist in bringing him to the properauthorities.”

RCCL stated that they reported the incident to the FBI and authorities in St. Kitts and that the crew member in question is no longer employed by Royal Caribbean.
