Living Wall on Crystal Symphony

The cruise line has intention to present the captain of this ship with yet another duty which will be to add an additional plant to mark the ship’s location at every port-of-call.

Just as in our male dominant world men sometimes measure their manhood in order to determine who is a bigger and stronger man, just as the same the cruise industry measures their out-do’s and firsts.  The luxury cruise line, Crystal Cruises, teamed up with ANS Group Europe to create something unique which will appeal to the art lovers and gardeners: a living wall.  The 40-foot-wide by 8-foot-high wall of plants will adorn the interior wall of the dining room area of Crystal Symphony’s.

A specialist florist has been commissioned to sculpt this art work to look like a world map.  The cruise line has intention to present the captain of this ship with yet another duty which will be to add an additional plant to mark the ship’s location at every port-of-call.

Crystal Cruises has only two luxury ships sailing the waters of the world and the Symphony is one of them.  This ship will end its summer season in Europe on September 5, 2012.  Once done in Europe, the ship will sail to New York, from which she’ll embark on a series of itineraries around New England and Canada.
