Man Rescued from Carnival Inspiration

The U.S. Coast Guard reported that a 26-year-old male passenger was medically evacuated from a cruise ship about 50 miles southwest of Point Loma on Monday.

According to Petty Officer 1st Class Henry Dunphy, Carnival Inspiration crew contacted the Coast Guard about 11:45 a.m. requesting help for a passenger who was suffering a rapid heart rate and possible heart problems.

Dunphy said that, an aircrew in a MH-Jayhawk helicopter hoisted the man and a nurse from the ship and took them to U.S. Coast Guard Sector San Diego, where the man was turned over to emergency medical personnel.
