Halifax Police is looking for a 70-year-old U.S. citizen, Sarah Tessier Powell. She was last seen on September 30 on board Holland America Veendam.Police officials say it is not clear where she may have disembarked and that might have wandered off a cruise ship in Charlottetown on Oct. 2, Sydney on Oct. 3 and Halifax on Oct. 4.

Powell’s family is worried for her well-being because she requires medication and may become agitated without it.

Police spokesman Pierre Bourdages said Mrs. Powell absence was noticed on October 4, and that the Cruise line informed them the same day. There is no evidence to suggest she’s met with foul play and believe she may have slipped past security and gotten off the ship. 

She is five feet six inches tall, with a thin build, brown shoulder length hair and speaks with with a strong southern accent.
