MSC Divina for the First Time in Barcelona

MSC Cruises, presented their cruise ship MSC Divina for the first time in Barcelona. The vessel made 12-day cruise from Barcelona with an itinerary through Morocco, Canary Islands, Portugal and Italy.

During the first stop in the Catalan port, the traditional exchange of plaques between the ship and the Port Authority in a ceremonial event was performed. The event was attended  by Carla Salvado, Head of Marketing and Cruise Port Authority of Barcelona, Mònica Solés, the Market Development Department of Tourism of Barcelona, and Emiliano Gonzalez, CEO of MSC Cruises.

"The first leg of the MSC Divina confirms the commitment of this important shipping through the Port of Barcelona. Such confidence in our port encourages us to continue working to provide the best infrastructure and the best service, both cruise lines and passengers "said the Catalan port spokesperson , Carla Salvado. During the ceremony, Carla Salvado  has expressed best wishes in the future plans, which included expansion of the fleet with the introduction of new ships. "As the first cruise port in Europe, it is an honor to have the confidence of a constantly growing and shipping company committed to excellent service quality," said Salvado.

Emiliano Gonzalez said: "Today the last ship to join our fleet, MSC Divina, comes to Barcelona. Until March, MSC Divina will continue her presence in this port, along with its sister ship MSC Splendida" .

On December 29, the ship will conduct a 12-day Christmas cruise from Barcelona and calls at Funchal (Madeira / Portugal), Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Casablanca / Marrakech (Morocco), Malaga, Civitavecchia (Rome / Italy), Genoa ( Italy) and back to Barcelona.

MSC Divina has 27,000 square meters of public areas, among which there are restaurants, bars, a casino, four swimming pools - including the new Garden Pool -, a bowling alley, a fitness center and lavish MSC Aurea Spa. An oriental paradise with excellent sea views, where the aroma of essential oils, the soft candlelight and modern decor and exotic - that combines natural stone, wood and rich mosaics - invite passengers to create a personal tour of the health, wellness and beauty.

The ship's 18 decks, have been given names of the gods of ancient Greece in honor of Sophia Loren, Italian film goddess, godmother of contemporary and MSC fleet.
